“I just love working with clients to make pieces that carry memories and transform things of the past into parts of the future. While a death in the family is truly tragic, I’m always honored to be asked to create pieces of remembrance and celebration. This project was no different! From one sister to another, a gift of love passed down from mom and dad.” - Kristen
Funny story, back in school, students in the jewelry department were banned from creating pieces that used anything “lucky charms” related. (ie. No flowers, shamrocks, moons, hearts, stars etc). These symbols were always overdone and looked the same especially when in school. It wasn’t until Kristen started her own business that she was able to finally create with these shapes and this project here was one of her first times working with the heart shape. It couldn’t have been for a sweeter client.
Sometimes projects require extensive sketching or specific requirements, but when Kristen’s clients trust her fully and tell her to let her creative spirit flourish, she celebrates like no other! This is where she does her best work. With this set of pieces, Kristen went into the studio and started experimenting with textures, shapes, and diamonds. The result, 2 coordinating hearts with an organic, earthy feel as though they were intertwined in a bed of flowers with ivy vines meandering throughout. Contrasting the organic earthy feel is an elegance and a flow brought about by the smooth edges and pops of diamond sparkle.
The client was thrilled when she was presented with the final pieces and her sister was equally as shocked/elated when she was presented with her own matching heart pendant! What a great way to memorialize mom and dad <3
"Kristen is the best! She recently designed heart pendants for my sister and I from out parents wedding bands and rings. So many thanks for capturing in the design how we feel about them. Love, love, love" -LAP
