I love creating engagement rings especially when my clients come to me with full trust in the process. It's a special thing as an artist/designer to be a part of such a HUGE milestone in a couple's life. This project was a joy to be a part of! Read on to see how this design came to life. - Kristen
This project started with a family diamond and an idea to create a ring that was unique and organic yet delicate and feminine. One "must have" was an intense pop of color. After some back and forth, Kristen suggested Paraiba Tourmaline because of its icy blue/green tones. It was the perfect pairing with 18K Rose Gold!
As with each piece here at Kristen Baird, this design started with raw silver to handcraft the model with. Through rounds and rounds of skillful fabrication, the ring model started to take form.
One of the joys of working with family stones is seeing them refreshed into new designs. Kristen carefully creates settings for each of the gemstones on this unique piece. As you can see, the model is coming to life!
After a client meeting to check in on the progress, Kristen did a bit more refining and then it was off to the races with this ring. A weight check on the center diamond and some quick fittings with the stones, everything is lining up perfectly.
The transition from raw model to rough casting to final piece takes many, many steps in the studio. BUT, that's the beauty of handcrafted jewelry. We make it look effortless and like magic. That's the best part of the whole process!
"Shout out to Kristen Baird Jewelry for helping me design this perfect ring for my bride to be. Kristen really took her time to make sure this piece is as perfect as it could have been. She made the process very easy and she kept me up to date along the way. The best part about her art is she provides a photo album of the build process that we get to keep forever to remind us of how important hard work is to keep our relationship healthy." Jonathan D.
Here's the happy couple! We always look forward to getting news about a proposal and the story behind "how it went down". It's the personal connection and experience that we have with our clients that makes our "job" so much more that simply a job. It's a passion and oh-so-fulfilling!
