This was a really fun project for a client who had her existing engagement ring from over 30 years back, but was ready for an upgrade to something a little more “statement-y”, yet still everyday wearable. After going over ideas, we settled on the perfect design plan: a triple stack in 18K yellow gold, featuring a diamond in the center from her original engagement ring and for added symbolism, celebrating 10 years per band…and counting. This client joked (but was totally serious) that she will have to come back in a few years to get one more band when they hit 40 years of marriage! Ha! I love a story like this. A fine start
We began by meeting up in person, so that my client could see some of my existing signature Fine Ripple Bands in 18K gold. She kept gravitating towards the Rhythm of the Sea Band, the Crown of Daisies Diamond Band and the Shooting Star Diamond Band. With a little handcrafting magic to tailor the setting to perfectly fit her engagement ring diamond, I knew we could turn the Shooting Star Diamond Band into a stunning centerpiece for this stacking ensemble. So that's where we started. Overall, this trio came together very quickly and the proportions worked out just right for her tiny size five finger.
A true Stellar Stack
As you can see, this Stellar Stack truly shines and highlights this client’s original engagement diamond so nicely. As an added perk, because of the way all of the diamonds are set - in bezels - she doesn't have to worry about prongs coming loose over time - which was a concern for her. She can wear just her engagement ring band alone or all three when she wants to make a bigger statement. Plus, these bands are so comfortable. Bonus! Can't go wrong with that!
